چکیده

Front Cover: In article number 2200343, Robert J. Clements, Elda Hegmann and co-workers present a photo-crosslinkable smectic-A liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) designed for 3D printing. X-ray diffraction data indicate steady orientation of the LC units within structure with LCE layer normal oriented perpendicular to printed strut surfaces. This transfers its anisotropic properties cells, inducing cell anisotropy relevant numerous tissues.

Fibroblasts promote the collective invasion of ameloblastoma tumor cells in a 3D coculture model

Ameloblastoma is a benign tumor of the odontogenic epithelium with several histological subtypes. All subtypes of ameloblastoma contain abundant stroma; the tumor cells invade collectively into the surrounding tissues without losing intratumor cell attachments. However, the molecular mechanisms mediating ameloblastoma invasion remain unclear. Here, we evaluated the functional significance of th...

HOXA9 promotes ovarian cancer growth by stimulating cancer-associated fibroblasts.

Epithelial ovarian cancers (EOCs) often exhibit morphologic features of embryonic Müllerian duct-derived tissue lineages and colonize peritoneal surfaces that overlie connective and adipose tissues. However, the mechanisms that enable EOC cells to readily adapt to the peritoneal environment are poorly understood. In this study, we show that expression of HOXA9, a Müllerian-patterning gene, is s...

Disseminated Tumor Cells and Cancer Stem Cells in Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is currently the fifth most lethal malignancy of women in Europe and the United States [1, 2]. The prognosis of ovarian cancer patients is limited due to lack of specific early symptoms and a high rate of relapse; more than half of all patients will suffer from disease recurrence, resulting in a poor overall survival [3]. Most cases are di‐ agnosed in advanced stages, and althoug...
